This is the first time the Superbowl has ever come to a stadium in the Dallas area. The event has been played out in Texas before – but always in Houston. In February 2011 the giants of the AFC and NFC will meet at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington to battle it out for the Superbowl championship.
Cowboys Stadium for the Super Bowl XLV
Many Texans and out-of-towners alike have been eagerly awaiting the chance to watch this Super Bowl game since the stadium was selected to host the match over three years ago. The Cowboys stadium is a huge affair with a maximum capacity of 110,000 people, with a standard seating capacity of 80,000 – meaning it’s the third biggest stadium in the NFL. As they say, everything’s bigger in Texas. In fact, there’s another huge feature at the stadium that many others lack – that is, a gigantic, high definition screen hanging in center field. With dimensions 160 feet by 72 feet, this is the largest stadium screen on Earth, ensuring you’ll never miss an important play or a big tackle. The stadium is a dome shape with a roof that can be mechanically opened or closed depending on the weather.
Super Bowl Halftime Shows

Rumors abound with regards to what the halftime performance will entail at the 2011 Superbowl, most of which surround country music artists. Given the location, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a country great at the center of the field at halftime.
