Wicked Houston? Wicked San Antonio? Yep.. For those who missed Wicked in Austin, Wicked is showing in Houston through July 25, 2010 and Wicked is in San Antonio Feb. 16 – March 6, 2011.

If you loved the Wizard of Oz, you’ll love the Wicked Broadway production.. or even if you didn’t like Wizard of Oz. Frankly, I never cared for the movie that came around once a year when I was a kid.. but Wicked? Some of the same characters but different story..
Wicked is about the future Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba, and the Good Witch of the North, Glinda. They struggle with their relationship, their conflicting personalities and world views, their rivalry over the same love-interest.. even their different perspective of the Wizard’s corrupt government. Elphaba’s public fall from grace causes further strife. Wicked is set before and during Dorothy and dog Toto’s arrival from Kansas, so it does include references to well-known scenes and dialogue in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. Yet, that’s the extent of the parallels between the two stories because Wicked is about the relationship between the two witches.
Wicked is currently the 18th longest-running musical on Broadway, and the 28th longest-running show in theater history.
