Zilker Park is ready for the big ACL Festival weekend, according to the Austin Statesman.. Remember how nasty it got last year with the rain? Talk about mud. Ick! Well, not this year. The lush Zilker Park lawn is now well established and ready for the thousands of ACL fans about to descend upon it. Acting division manager over central parks, Charles Vaclavik, says we’ll be fine even if it rains this weekend.
The lawn has been reshaped and the drainage system greatly improved.. to the tune of approx. $400,000 BTW. Another improvement over last year, is that the food court has been elevated onto a platform to accommodate extra heavy foot traffic.
